CAS Assistance Qualified Countries: What They Are and How to Claim Your Promo Code

Taking actuarial exams can be quite expensive. But there are ways to get a discount — for example, if your country of residence is a CAS Assistance Qualified Country.

In this post, you’ll learn how to check your eligibility and how to obtain your promo code.

Highlights

  • CAS Assistance Qualified Countries are countries where the CAS offers a 75% discount on Exams MAS-I, MAS-II, 5–9, PCPA, and DISC Online Courses.

  • To receive the discount, you must be a full-time resident of one of the qualified countries and plan to take the exam in that country.

  • This is one of the CAS discount programs, alongside the Actuarial Exam Support Program and Exam Discounts for Students.

What They Are?

CAS Assistance Qualified Countries are countries eligible for a 75% discount on CAS Exams and CAS DISC Online Courses, which are required to achieve the ACAS and FCAS designations.

This is one of the CAS Exam Fee Discount Programs.

On the CAS website, the program is described as follows:

What Countries are Qualified?

The list of assistance-qualified countries includes all countries eligible for the 75% discount offered by the CAS.

Poland is on the list of qualified countries, so I was able to apply for the promo code.

Other examples of countries on the list include India, Portugal, and South Africa.

I couldn’t find any clear formula or criteria that CAS uses to determine which countries qualify (if you know, feel free to let me know!).

CAS states that the list is created "to accommodate for varying economic factors," which, in my understanding, could be based on GDP and other socio-demographic statistics.

How To Get a Promo Code?

If you find that the country you live in is qualified for this discount, you must be a full-time resident of that country and take the exam there.

If you plan to take the exam MAS-I, MAS-II, 5–9, or PCPA, you should follow these steps:

And if you plan to take one of CAS DISC Online Course, these steps:

One difference between the two processes is that you should check whether a Pearson VUE test center in your country offers the exam. However, in both cases, you are required to submit an online form with your personal information and confirm its accuracy by signing the form.

If your submission is approved, you will receive your promo code by email. You can then use it when paying for the exam or an online course.

You will only receive the promo code when the registration window for the exam is open.

Summary

CAS Assistance Qualified Countries are eligible for a 75% discount on CAS exams and DISC online courses.

The application process for the discount is straightforward, and if the registration window for the exam is open, you should receive your promo code by email shortly after applying.
